Blue Heat: The Case Of The Cover Girl Murders

Blue Heat is actually a computer rendition of the soft-core movie Cover Me and was filmed at the same time.  I haven’t been able to watch the movie, but it sounds like some scenes were just directly taken from the movie, while some were added just for the game.  And I would be willing to wager that the game provides more entertainment, though that still doesn't say much.

There isn't much to the plot. There's a murder. Everyone is a suspect. And in between there is a lot of gratutious sex. However, I do have to give the game designers some props. You do actually have to do some detective work along the way. You need to collect evidence, establish motive for various suspects, order surveillance reports, and then deduct from the information you have. And with only a few hiccups, this is all done rather simply. Even better, there are also multiple ways to proceed, despite the linearity of the script (and its conclusion).

The praise is likely directly correlated to the fact that I wasn't expecting much from what is essentially an excuse for a lot of sex and nudity. And to be fair, it is pretty good for what it purports to be.  Courtney Taylor is damn sexy as the newly minted detective in this sting operation, and if titilation is what you're looking for, there's plenty to be had. And while the story is nothing special, it would also be difficult to call it boring. But in reality, this is really no better than your average soap opera or soft porn movie. If that's your sort of thing, though, you won't be disappointed.

Cameos are made by Corbin Bernsen and Paul Sorvino, a sure highlight of their careers.  Also, Playboy model Shae Marks gets to show her stuff, so to speak.
